OddsDigger Tips Team

The US Open is the most important Major Golf tournament in the world and is always a tough test for any golfer. That is why you need to take your betting seriously and make sure that you are getting the best odds available for this year’s U.S.

The model has nailed eight majors and is targeting four long shots who could shock the field. Head to SportsLine now to see the projected leaderboard and get your 2022 U.S.

1. Rory McIlroy

Rory McIlroy has regained the confidence that he needs to challenge for major championship glory and is now the favourite to win this year’s US Open. After he successfully defended his title at the RBC Canadian Open, the Northern Irishman has moved up to +1000 for this tournament.

He is a player who is well suited to Northeast courses and has six top-10 finishes at the U.S. Open in the last five years.

The 33-year-old has been a consistent performer this season, tying for 10th at the Valero Texas Open and securing a runner-up result in the PGA Championship last month. He currently ranks first in strokes gained tee-to-green and driving distance, which should help him to find the fairways at The Country Club.

This will be the first major championship of his career and he is set to have a good chance of winning. He has shown a penchant for leading on the opening day in majors and I expect him to make his first round lead at Brookline in similar style as the one he had when he went wire-to-wire at Southern Hills in 2011.

There is no question that McIlroy will be a key contender for this year’s championship. He is a player who loves a challenge and the country club will surely be testing his game.

He has two first round leads this season at Bay Hill and Southern Hills, both of which are extremely challenging. His runner-up finish at the Masters was his best performance of the year, but he has not been great in his other five majors and I think that will come through again this time.

Jon Rahm has also made an impressive start to the season, with a win at the PLAYERS Championship and a top-10 at St. George’s. He has now won three times in the last six months and is a major danger in the US Open this week.

Xander Schauffele is another name who is worth keeping an eye on this week at The Country Club. He has three top-10 finishes in the last six years and will be looking to add a fifth to his tally this week.

2. Dustin Johnson

Dustin Johnson is a player who has won multiple majors and is currently world number one in the golf rankings. He has also had a long run of 64 weeks at the top, making him the fifth longest reigning number one in the history of golf.

When he is playing well, he can be tough to beat. He has two wins in the space of four tournaments in 2018 and 2019, and won back-to-back PGA Championships in 2017 and 2020.

He has a solid track record on bentgrass greens and should be able to perform well at St. Andrews, where he finished T-8 in 2021.

In the previous three months, he has made the cut twice and has averaged a score lower than the average of the field in each of those events. His best finish was T-12 at the Masters in April.

As a result, he is the odds-on favorite to win this week’s LIV Golf event in New Jersey. National betting platforms like DraftKings and Oddschecker favor Johnson to take down the $4 million prize money this weekend at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster.

Johnson is coming off a T-6 finish at the Open Championship in St. Andrews, where he had a three-stroke lead entering the final round before playing poorly. It was his worst outing in a major, but he did have a very good week at the Genesis Invitational two weeks ago where he shot 72-66-67 to finish a shot behind Adam Scott who won on a playoff hole.

He’s not had too many top ten finishes this year, but that may be a result of his injury problems. He has had arthroscopic knee surgery in 2019 and has been struggling with some painful symptoms since then.

The PGA Tour has been a tough place to play for Johnson in the past couple of months, but he’s now in a much better frame of mind and is ready to get his first LIV cheque. He’s a great bet to finish in the top 40 and should be worth adding to your bankroll.

3. Brooks Koepka

Koepka has won twice at the US Open and has finished runner-up and T4 in his last four appearances. He has yet to win on the PGA Tour this season and has had a couple of tough finishes, but his recent results indicate that he is still capable of winning a major.

The best players to back at the US Open are those who have previous major form. Seven of the last nine winners had top 10 finishes in a major prior to their U.S. Open victory, and a player with previous top 10 finish in a major has the highest winning percentage.

Brooks Koepka is a great bet for this year’s US Open because he has a history of success at The Country Club. He is a very strong driver of the ball, and his approach to greens is good. He also has a deadly short game, and his irons are very accurate. He is a major-caliber golfer that should be in the mix at The Country Club this week, and I believe he will make his way into the top 20.

Another great bet this week is Shane Lowry, who has had some great success at The Country Club in the past. He has produced a T-3 at the Masters and RBC Heritage, and he has a strong history of playing well on difficult setups.

He has had a decent year overall on the PGA Tour with a pair of top-10 finishes, and I believe he can continue his good play at The Country Club this week. He has the ability to hammer the ball off the tee and is an excellent putter, so I think he can be a solid value pick at +3300.

If you’re looking to bet on the US Open, make sure to keep an eye on futures odds throughout the months leading up to the tournament. This will help you find the right betting opportunities when you’re ready to place a bet. Just keep in mind that US Opens are a hard event to predict, and some futures odds may temporarily rise or fall due to a stretch of poor results or lack of action.

4. Justin Thomas

The US OPEN is a major championship in the world of golf, and it's one of the most prestigious events on the PGA Tour. The event takes place at Brookline Country Club in Massachusetts, and it is the third major of the year.

There are many contenders for the US Open, and a number of long shots could surprise the golfing world this week. Below is a list of some of the top candidates to consider betting on this week, and the best odds to win THE US OPEN.

Rory McIlroy +3300: After winning last month's Canadian Open, Rory has become the bookies' favourite to win the US Open. The Northern Irishman is a great option to take a punt at this weekend's tournament, as he has won the event in each of his last two appearances and looks in excellent form after posting five top-10 finishes in his last eight events.

Thomas has also shown good form in recent weeks, and it's hard to see him missing out on a top-five finish at this event. He has three top-10s in his last four majors, including a victory at Quail Hollow, and is currently third on the PGA Tour in tee-to-green shooting and shots gained overall.

Justin Thomas +1400: After winning last month's Canadian Open, Justin Thomas has climbed up to the third favorite to win THE US OPEN this week. He's also won the PGA Championship and finished top 10 in The Masters, meaning he has a solid record at majors this season.

His most recent top-10 came at TPC Scottsdale, and he should have no problem finding success at Riviera. The course will punish poor drives, and Thomas' hot putter should help him get the job done at this major.

Cameron Smith +1800: The 20-year-old Australian is another player who could make a serious impact at this major. He has a decent US Open record, with a T2 finish in 2017, and has been playing well on tough courses this year.

The US Open is the third major of the season, and it's a must-watch event for golf fans. This year's field is a mix of veterans and up-and-coming stars, so it will be interesting to see how the top players fare this weekend.
