Austria v Finland international friendly expert betting advice and betting tips. Austria strong favourites at home to underperforming Finland

Match Preview - 19:30 Kick-Off at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion, Vienna

Two late strikes from Arnautovic and Harnik were enough to land 3 all-important World Cup qualifying points against Moldova for the Austrians last Friday night. The victory left Austria in 4th position level on points with Wales and 4 behind the joint early leaders Serbia and the Republic of Ireland.

Finland suffered a 2-0 loss in their qualifying game in Turkey to continue their miserable run of form. Mixu Paatelainen’s side have won just once in their last 16 games, losing 11 of those fixtures. The Finns have also failed to score in 4 of their last 5 games, their only goal coming in a 1-0 friendly win against Morocco back in early January.

Austria have only lost once in their last 10 games against Finland and that defeat came all the way back in 1993. Everything points to a one sided contest in Vienna on Tuesday evening.

Austria v Finland Predictions

Finland have looked shorn of energy and ideas in recent months so they go into Tuesday’s international friendly as underdogs again. But while their results have been poor, they haven’t been conceding an awful lot of goals. Austria should win this game, but a low-scoring finish should also be expected.

Ladbrokes have odds of 9/4 for Austria to win against Finland by one goal. That covers you for both a 1-0 and 2-1 home victory and those odds are great value for those likely eventualities. If you are looking for a banker bet, then William Hill’s odds of 6/10 for there to be under 2.5 goals are narrow for a reason.
