Cheltenham Open Racing Tips

Saturday BetVictor Gold Cup Handicap Chase

Saturday’s feature race of the entire meeting is the best place to start, and the one we really like in this race is Guitar Pete, who we saw win at Wetherby two weeks ago. He won impressively that day, he was very well backed and came nicely away to beat the well fancied Sametegal by seven lengths. There was a further 16 lengths back to the third that day and this still young and highly progressive horse looks to be extremely well handicapped going into the big race of the weekend.

Of course this is an extremely competitive race and many go to the race with great chances, but Guitar Pete is the selection and he looks to have a very progressive profile while remaining well handicapped.

Sunday Shloer Chase Grade Two

The best race of the day on Sunday is the Shloer Chase, a race where we will see many Champion Chase hopefuls take each other on in a great early season clash. The horse we like in this race is Cloudy Dream, who has the benefit of a run this season after coming second at Aintree three weeks ago and it's a perfect pick for racing tips Cheltenham Open. That race will have put him spot on for this one, while many of his main rivals are having their first run of the season.

Fox Norton is the obvious main danger and will go to the race as favourite after a great year last year. However, at what is likely to be a good price, Cloudy Dream has a great chance of upsetting Fox Norton in what should be a fantastic race. If you're still looking for the best horse bets today, keep reading.

Sunday Greatwood Handicap Hurdle Grade Three

The Greatwood Handicap is a great competitive hurdle race taking place on Sunday over two miles. You need a special horse to win this, one that can travel at speed and jump well, despite the rough race that comes when you have a big field, which we will have for this one. A horse we are looking forward to seeing this year is Nietzsche, who came third in a competitive handicap at the Cheltenham Festival last season and it's a must in our tips for Cheltenham Open today. He has been out for a run on the flat just over a month ago and that will have put him spot on here. He should be a big price for this race, and you will get a great run for your money from him, he looks to be the sort of horse who is well handicapped enough to pick up a big race like this.

Friday Grade Two Ballymore Novice Hurdle

The final race of the day on Friday is a great looking Grade Two novice hurdle and in this race Vision Des Flos is the one to be on. He made a great debut when finishing third in a hot contest behind Poetic Rhythm and he will have learnt a lot from that race. With improvement almost certain, and now 5lbs better at the weights, he has enough in his favour to overturn the form with Poetic Rhythm and win the race. He is an extremely exciting individual for this season and I expect we will see him back here in March for a race at the festival.

Friday BetVictor Handicap Chase

Festive Affair is a very interesting horse to look out for on Friday, and returns to a level that will suit him much better than last time out. He won nicely at Uttoxeter but then was put into a listed race which he found too hot at Ascot. This is a small drop in class but one that will suit him and in what looks to be a wide open event he looks to have a very good chance of finding the winners enclosure again.
