Albania’s 2-0 loss to Italy in Friday’s World Cup Qualifier made it 3 defeats on the trot for Gianni Di Biasi. It was also the 3rd game in succession where Albania failed to score. The Albanians are finding it a real struggle to produce any sort of regular attacking consistency. Armando Sadiku is the leading scorer in their squad with just 7 goals and that really says it all.

Bosnia-Herzegovina enjoyed a comfortable 5-0 win over minnows Gibraltar in their qualifying game. As always Miralem Pjanic, Edin Dzeko and Vedad Ibisevic are key components in Mehmed Bazdarevic’s squad, but it isn’t clear whether he will risk the wrath of his star players clubs by deploying them in a fixture with little riding on the result.

The sides have met on only two previous occasions, when they shared a European Championship qualifying group back in 2010. The first game in Albania finished 1-1 and Bosnia-Herzegovina managed to win the return fixture 2-0 at home.
