As one of the greatest ever tennis players, it is not surprising that Swiss national Roger Federer has had has had overwhelming dominance of the tournament. He has had a record seven victories while also reaching the finals on 12 occasions. Juan Martín del Potro remains the last player to have ended the dominance of Federer in consecutive seasons. He won the titles in 2012 and 2013, but tennis predictions do not expect the Argentine to be close this time around. Djokovic has been immensely successful over the last couple of years, but his last title at the Swiss Indoors came in 2009. He would actually consider being due to a Swiss Indoors title, and unsurprisingly, he will be one of the favourites according to tennis betting odds.

Switzerland may have produced the most number of victories at this tournament, but Sweden and the Czech Republic are the next most successful. In the doubles tournament, though, the tournament has been much more competitive with almost every national dominating in the last decade. Alexander Peya and Bruno Soares are the reigning defending champions going into the 2016 edition.
