Ludlow
Ludlow racecourse is a very flat jumps track based in Shropshire. It’s a generally well-supported track with plenty of nice national hunt horses sent from the Lambourn yards. There are no standout races or fixtures at Ludlow but it can provide a good test for novice chasers with some tricky fences to navigate. Horse racing today at Ludlow is of an above standard quality with a competitive class two mares’ handicap hurdle as well as two class three handicap chases.
The going is officially described as good, good to soft in places across the course. Beware of abandonments due to frost or poor weather.

Ayr
Ayr racecourse is one of Scotland’s premier racetracks. It hosts good quality flat and jumps races all year round and is one of the oldest racecourses in the UK. Over jumps, the Scottish Grand National is the premier fixture held in April every year. On the same day there are two Grade Two events for hurdles and novice chasers. On the flat, the Ayr Gold Cup is a premier fixture, one of the most fiercely competitive handicaps in the whole of the UK for 3yo+ over six furlongs.
