Horse Betting Tips for Exeter and Sedgefield Races on February 12

Jonathan Nixon

Exeter and Sedgefield events on February 12 will be witnessing the horse racing betting tips in favour of the numerous top races. /p>

Horse racing action on February 12 only sees two venues involved – Exeter and Sedgefield. Even then, plenty of horse betting interest is expected to be the standard of the day. It would not be a surprise considering that both these venues have a huge history when it comes to the top events. They are also conveniently located for fans to pay a visit on race day.

Exeter Horse Betting Tips

Exeter racecourse is regarded as one of the best when it comes to National Hunt horse racing events. It was originally popular as a summer venue for jump races. Now, bet online interest surrounding this venue is huge considering that it hosts top races like the Haldon Gold Cup, which is a run in early November. On February 12, Exeter’s top race – at least in terms of pursue – would be the 188Bet Veterans' Handicap Chase at 15:20. Horse racing betting action focuses on this Class 2 event even as a Listed Class 1 event – Free Bet At 188Bet Novices' Hurdle – takes place at 14:20.

Masters Hill is seen as a favourite for the Class 2 event. The listed event, though, attracts even bigger competition. Horse racing tips favour Finian's Oscar for success, although tough competition is expected from Messire Des Obeaux. Both runners have managed to win the last three races without exception. Since the track is rated between soft to heavy, one needs to be careful at selecting runners without the help from horse racing betting tips.

Going is soft.

13:50 - MR CLARKSON is a 5-year-old bay gelding trained by D Pipe. He won at Exeter on January 17 and at the same racecourse on January 1. Raced only a few times in 2016, but he's been improving a lot as of late. Misterton, the 6-year-old grey gelding, is probably the main danger in this race. Mr Clarkson is 11/10 to win the race, while Misterton is 8/1 to win.

14:20 - FINIAN'S OSCAR last won at Sandown on January 7 and at Hereford on December 19. He didn't race much in 2016. In fact, he raced only once and won at Portrush on October 22. The 5-year-old bay gelding is 2/9 to win the race. Whatmore (8/1) is his main rival, while Seven Nation Army (10/1) is also counted as a great rival.

14:50 - BALLYMALIN (11/2) last won at Kempton on January 14. Before that, the 7-year-old bay gelding trained by N A Twiston-Davies had two other victories at Ffos Las and Southwell, on December 21 and November 15 respectively. He had a stunning 2016, winning multiple times and proving that he's an incredible runner. Barney Dwan (6/1) is considered his main rival, along with Eamon An Cnoic (6/1).

15:50 - Odds for ALARY to win the race at Exeter are 11/10, although he hasn't raced much recently and he doesn't have many victories. C L Tizzard (the trainer) counts a lot here.

Sedgefield Horse Betting Tips

While Exeter is given the task of hosting the class 1 and 2 events on February 12, Sedgefield largely hosts Class 4 and 5 events. The highlight of Sedgefield happens to be the Durham National Handicap Chase, which is now run in autumn after previously being held in April. The standout fixture for best odds today would be the Betfred Novices' Hurdle at 15:10. This Class 4 sees a string of overwhelming odds in favour of Gray Day. Horse racing odds are likely to favour the Sedgefield events for consistency considering that the track is between soft-good to soft.

15:10 - GRAY DAY won at Bangor on January 23, and was second at Leicester, proving that it boasts much potential. His victory at Leicester on December 7 was a huge milestone for him, as he stepped his game quite a lot recently. Odds for him to win the race are 6/5, while his main rival is 7/4 to win - Storm Forecast.

15:40 - WISH IN A WELL was second at Fontwell on January 29 after a victory at Fakenham on January 1. The 8-year-old bay gelding didn't have a great year in 2016, but he's been improving a lot as of late and we expect much here in this Class 5 race.

16:10 - TSUNDOKU's (5/2) victory at Wetherby on January 24 made the 6-year-old chestnut mare be seen as a favourite in this race. Although Feeltherhythm is also a great runner, we'd better go this way.
