Unbeaten in their first 4 fixtures in FIFA World Cup Qualifying Group D, 2nd placed Serbia will fancy their chances of getting their 3rd win of the campaign in Tbilisi. Georgia are yet to get their first victory in Group D and their hopes of qualification already seem over.
Serbia’s main attacking threat will come from midfield, with Dusan Tadic, Zoran Tosic, and Nemanja Matic expected to feature heavily. Serbia’s physicality will also be a factor and they are a genuine threat from set pieces, especially when they are delivered by Alexander Kolarov’s accurate left foot.
Predictably, Georgia will look to pack the pitch centrally and attempt to hit Serbia on the counter attack when possible. Their lack of options and variety in attacks sees them pinning their hopes on keeping Serbia out at the other end.
Georgia have a less than impressive recent record having lost 6 of their last 10 competitive home games and even though the Georgians don’t concede many goals, I expect Serbia to do just enough to leave Tbilisi with 3 all important points.
This fixture is expected to be a low scoring one. But while the over/under markets offer little value, there are other Georgia vs Serbia odds in other betting markets that look decidedly better. My betting advice would be to look at Draw Half Time/Serbia Full Time at 16/5 with Ladbrokes. Bet 365 are offering 6/4 odds for Serbia to win to nil, a price that is also worth your interest.
