A stoppage-time winner against Eibar last time out has kept Athletic Bilbao in the hunt for European football in La Liga, and Los Leones will want to keep that momentum going against Betis.
Ernesto Valverde’s men have won four of their last five matches in the league, which has his team on course to squeeze into the Europa League places between now and the end of the season.
Athletic have lost just one of their last 16 home games in La Liga, with that sole defeat coming at the hands of current league favourites Real Madrid.
Betis, however, have enjoyed something of a resurgence of late. Victor Sanchez’s men have won their last two consecutive games, keeping two clean sheets in the process.
Athletic shouldn’t have any injury problems to complicate things for them heading into this week’s game, with no real changes expected to be made by the Basque Club.
The hosts’ form in their own stadium should be the biggest factor in this contest, with Los Leones set to continue their good recent run of results with another three points.
