Sheffield Wednesday find themselves on the very edge of the play-off positions heading into the weekend, with the hosts in jeopardy of dropping out if they fail to beat Cardiff.
The home side beat Rotherham last week, who sit bottom of the league, before going on to win against top-of-the-table Newcastle recently too, taking six points from their last six.
The hosts have kept just one clean sheet in their last 11 Championship games, but Cardiff have mainly been a threat at home this season. Neil Warnock’s men are much weaker on the road.
The Welsh club have recently drawn with Blackburn Rovers and Barnsley on their travels, as well as losing to both Wolves and QPR, but they haven’t won away since mid-February.
Given that Fulham sit just two points off their shoulder in seventh place, the pressure is really on Sheffield Wednesday to maintain their current pace and ensure that they are involved in the play-offs.
Cardiff have less to play for, as they’re currently occupying a mid-table position in 14th, with their inability to pick up three points away from home skewing this one in the hosts’ favour.
