Neither of these teams have anything to play for, heading into the tail end of the season, with a willingness to bounce back at home probably enough to fuel a revival from Preston.
The hosts have lost their last four consecutive games in the Championship, after being dealt a tough run of fixtures. Leeds, Huddersfield, Norwich and Newcastle have all arrived successively.
Preston have conceded at least three times per match since their 5-0 win over Bristol City at Deepdale at the very outset of this month.
Rotherham, meanwhile, finally picked up a win last time out. A 1-0 victory over Ipswich Town ended a run that has stretched since mid-January where the league’s bottom side haven’t picked up three points.
The visitors haven’t picked up a win away from home in the league all season, earning just one point on their travels. That came all the way back in October.
With Rotherham’s fate sealed and their away form awful, Preston should have a good chance to bounce back from a disappointing run of defeats.
