US Grand Prix 2017 Key Information and Circuit History

The US Grand Prix is one of a number of events which has been intermittently scheduled on the Formula One calendar. Ten different locations have staged the race but most recently the ‘Circuit of the Americas’ has hosted the race. The Formula One USA 2017 race will be the 5th consecutive year that the drivers have taken to the circuit in Elroy, Texas. This year’s event will be held on Sunday 22nd October 2017.

Other locations to have held the Formula 1 US Grand Prix include Phoenix and most recently Indianapolis. The latter held its first Formula One race as recently as the year 2000. This was removed from the calendar in 2009 due to the race continually struggling to break even financially.

The Formula 1 United States Grand Prix signed a ten-year contract in 2010 to host the event on an annual basis at a purpose built track called ‘Circuit of the Americas’ in Austin, Texas. Previously plans to host a race in both New York and Weehawken were both scrapped in the build up to the agreement.

The Austin F1 2017 is competed over a track stretching 5.516 KM with drivers required to complete 56 lengths of the circuit. A number of the corners have been inspired by popular and established F1 tracks and drivers in the F1 Austin Texas 2017 will once again have to negotiate one of the more challenging circuits on the calendar.

The race has received some criticism for its proximity to the Mexican Grand Prix in both location and on the calendar meaning some fans attending the race in Mexico City.

Key Drivers and Their Chances of Success

Michael Schumacher has the joint best record in the race with five victories which is matched by British driver Lewis Hamilton. If the Brit can find success in the Austin F1 2017, he will become the all-time record holder in the Formula 1 USA Grand Prix with six victories.

The Mercedes driver has won the race for the last three consecutive years as well as finding success in 2007 and 2012. 2002 was the last time a non-British or German driver was successful in the Formula One United States Grand Prix.

Hamilton’s title rival Sebastian Vettel has only had one success here and it came all the way back in 2013. He finished ahead of Mark Webber with Lewis Hamilton only landing a 5th place finish.

Hamilton’s record in this race will undoubtedly see him at the top of the US Grand Prix 2017 betting and he’s likely to oblige for his backers.

Daniel Riccardo has been accumulating plenty of top three finishes this season and he found himself on the podium twelve months ago finishing 19 seconds behind the winner and a further 24 seconds ahead of a beleaguered Sebastian Vettel.

Better races will be expected from Max Verstappen and Kimi Raikkonen, there are some interesting Formula 1 odds on them too.

US Grand Prix 2017 Predictions - Who Will Celebrate the Victory?

Lewis Hamilton is the favourite in the race

US Grand Prix odds are really short for Hamilton at the 2017 US Grand Prix as he is very close to clinching his 4th World Championship title. Let's check our US Grand Prix betting tips in detail. This could be a double success for him as his team Mercedes is poised to wrap up the Constructors' Championship. The pressure is quite high and he needs to do well in order to achieve all of this. Hamilton is currently leading the Drivers Standings with a staggering 307 points, ahead of Sebastian Vettel who is second and only has 247 points. Valtteri Bottas is third with 234 points. Hamilton last won in Japan last week and in Singapore in mid-September. He is poised to become the F1 champion this year. This is one of the best 2017 US Grand Prix bets you can place.

Bottas won only two times this year in the F1 calendar. His first victory took place in Russia on April 30, and the second one in Austria, in early July. Valtteri Bottas is currently third in the Drivers Standings and he surpassed powerful drivers such as Ricciardo, Verstappen, and Räikkönen. Betting on a Top 3 Finish is a wise decision as it comes tied with great odds at Coral and the driver is strong enough to take the podium. Use our US Grand Prix predictions to win!

Fernando Alonso is definitely not who he used to be. He is currently in the second half of the Drivers Standings and his year was as bad as it could possibly be. In 2017, he had 9 DNFs (Did Not Finish) out of 15 races. His poor shape can be attributed to personal issues or the lack of focus on his career but one thing is certain: Alonso is boasting the highest chances of not finishing the United States Grand Prix this weekend.

United States Grand Prix will see plenty of exciting action this year

The Formula One USA 2017 is set to be another pulsating contest and our US F1 Predictions 2017 suggest Lewis Hamilton is set to continue his sensational run at the track. But can anyone stop the dominating Brit in this year’s Grand Prix?
