Antonio Conte’s Chelsea have lost just once at home in the English top-flight this season, with the arrival of Sam Allardyce’s Crystal Palace unlikely to ruffle too many feathers at Stamford Bridge this weekend.
The Blues have conceded just eight times across 13 home games, with that form helping them to open up a 10-point lead at the summit of the table heading into the business end of the campaign.
Chelsea continue to scrape results week in, week out, with it unthinkable that Conte’s side will drop too many more home points between now and the summer. Crystal Palace, meanwhile, have won their last three.
Allardyce has masterminded a run of form to drag the Eagles out of the relegation zone and into 16th place, four points clear of Hull who sit third bottom. The great escape is still on, but the former England coach won’t have factored in taking any spoils from Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea have both Diego Costa and Thibaut Courtois struggling with injury problems, with Eden Hazard and Victor Moses also picking up minor knocks recently. Palace could be without James McArthur and Patrick van Aanholt.
The hosts’ form at Stamford Bridge speaks for itself, despite the away side’s recent upturn in form. Palace have lost half of their away games thus far in the Premier League, with Saturday promising another.
