Sheffield United celebrated their promotion back to the Championship during the weekend but the away side will be keen to keep up their momentum in the title race against struggling Port Vale.
The home side find themselves in the bottom four at present with 45 points but they are just a point shy of the four teams ahead of them in the table. A victory would do wonders for their hopes of survival.
Port Vale have lost just one of their last six matches at home in League One, which should stand them in good stead for hosting the current league leaders but the visitors have a title in their sights.
The hosts have also kept clean sheets in their last two outings at Vale Park, against Wimbledon and MK Dons, but Billy Sharp should be looking to find a way through to keep the Blades firing.
Billy Sharp was recently named the division’s Player of the Year and he has 26 goals to his name for the current campaign. Port Vale have only scored 44 as a collective.
The hosts have a game in hand of the teams above them and could climb as high as 18th with a victory if they make the most of it when it comes around, but Sheffield United’s quality should shine through.
