Aussie’s chaotic return as rival fights through broken jaw but Fenech protege Brock Jarvis back on track

Brock Jarvis has sensationally revived his promising fight career with a win Hall of Famer Jeff Fenech branded “special” - appearing to break the jaw of tough Filipino rival Marlon Paniamogan after almost being stopped in the second himself.

Five months after being knocked out by fellow Australian prospect Liam Paro, Jarvis was forced to fight back in every sense - being sensationally rocked in the second round of his No Limit Fight Night headliner before then rallying to win via devastating fourth round stoppage.

By the time of the finish, Paniamogan’s jaw was extremely swollen and likely broken.

The win capped off a big night for the young Sydneysider, who was rocked, and almost dropped in the second as Paniamogan then swarmed for what momentarily seemed like a huge boilover.

Yet the 25-year-old not only recovered, but by the third round had rallied so strongly he got to the bell while forcing his opponent backwards into the ring ropes and then right through them.

Then in the fourth, Jarvis finished it and quickly declared he wants to fight again as soon as possible.

“I had a lot of things in my head,” he said of returning from the devastating Paro loss. “So it was good to get back.”

Asked about the second round, Jarvis said: “He caught me with a good shot and went for it.

“He’s a tough opponent.

“I knew he had power and that I had to be careful.

“But he caught me.

“Still, it’s just great to be back in the ring.

“It feels good.

“We worked on a few changes and I just want to go again as soon as I can”.

His coach Jeff Fenech added: “He got hit but that’s boxing.

“It’s two guys who want to punch each other in the head.

“But when you can turn a fight around like Brock did, it’s really special.”

The fight capped off an extremely entertaining card that included undefeated heavyweight Liam Talivaa keeping his perfect record intact and Kayne Clarke scoring a brutal KO finish.

Clarke stopped Hunter Ioane via a lunging left hook in the second -- a devastating finish sees the heavy handed Victorian, who already has a fight booked for next month, now undefeated in 13 fights as a professional.

Elsewhere, Talivaa scored a majority decision win over Michael Seko, while undefeated Central Coast fighter Jason Fawcett also kept his perfect professional record intact -- scoring a majority decision win over Isaias Sette in the event opener.

The win sees the super welterweight, who trains out of the Complete Boxing Gym alongside rising Aussie star Sam Goodman, now through five fights without loss.
