Horse Racing Betting Tips Focus on Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon Dec 4

Jonathan Nixon

The Grade 2 Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon tops the horse racing betting scenario on December 4, but Kelso also has an interesting line-up.

As the top horse racing events come and go, the United Kingdom is certainly flush with the top horse racing venues. Huntingdon and Kelso are the important venues hosting the race on December 4. Even though it is a Sunday, horse racing today also takes place at Fairyhouse in Ireland.

Huntingdon

Even though Huntingdon has events throughout the year, the thick of the horse betting interest will be surrounding the Grade 2 Peterborough Chase. This race was initially run in November but it has been switched to a December schedule in the last few years. This race on December 4 is scheduled at 14:00 and it sees a strong list of competitors.

After having achieved four consecutive wins, Ar Mad will be a strong favourite when it comes to the horse racing betting tips. It is quite possible that he may face a strong challenge from More of That and Art Mauresque. The event in 2015 was won by Al Ferof, but he is not one of the runners for the 2016 edition.

Other notable races taking place at Huntingdon today is the Betfred Lotto '100k Cash Giveaway' Handicap Hurdle at 13:30. Competition is once again intense for this event, but horse racing tips are predicting success for Late Night Lily.

Going is good to soft.

14:00 - JOSSES HILL won at Kempton on November 7 and had another victory in 2016, back in February. His contender doesn't have any recent victories and we believe this is a sure bet given the low number of runners (7) in this Class 1 race.

14:30 - TOP TUG won at Kempton on November 7. The 5-year-old chestnut gelding is trained by A King and is going against many maidens. Definitely, has his chances.

Kelso

Once again reiterating the strong list of horse racing events that take place throughout the year, Kelso is involved with some brilliant mix of events on December 4. Those who want to watch veterans back in action in terms of the best odds can opt for the Scotty Brand Veterans' Handicap Chase at 14:50. Just an hour earlier will be the Persimmon Homes Scottish Borders National Handicap Chase, a Class 3 event which attracts a strong competition.

Horse racing odds are likely to favour the runners who like a softer ground rather than a track rated as good. Irish racehorse Another Hero is likely to be a favourite for this event but closely followed by Carrigdhoun, who has managed to win the last two races. Neptune Equester won the event in 2015, but bet online odds are expecting extra distance runners to come out in front in this 4 mile and 90 yard event.

Going is good to soft-soft in places.

12:20 - MOUNT NEWS (odds are 6/4) is a dual bumper winner. He is an incredible jumps prospect and he can make a truly successful hurdles debut. Sam Spinner - which is a Newcastle winner - is respected under a penalty. Dance of Fire is also worth a look (great Flat performer).

12:50 - THE DUTCHMAN is a successful hurdler. He is set to be a great chaser, having made a glorious debut over fences in determined fashion on return at Wetherby (15f). We believe improvement is yet to come and big shout if staying markedly longer trip.

13:20 - KELKA won at Hexham on November 4 and had a few runner ups and a victory this year. It's got plenty of potential and the odds are 4/9 for her to win in this Class 4 race. There are only seven runners here, so this is our sure bet.
