Match Preview - 17:00 Kick-Off at GSP Stadium, Nicosia

Cyprus and Estonia sit in 4th and 5th place in World Cup Qualifying Group H respectively, having amassed 3 points each from 4 fixtures. Interestingly, Cyprus have won just 13% of their last 15 home fixtures, whilst Estonia have not suffered defeat in 43% of their last 15 away from home.

Neither side have ever qualified for a major tournament and their chances of making the World Cup in 2018 are already looking bleak. Estonia suffered a morale crushing 8-1 defeat to Belgium last time out and it will be interesting to see how that result will affect their confidence.

Both sides only victory in Group H to date came against a very weak Gibraltar outfit, and with similar results elsewhere too, Cyprus and Estonia look to be quite evenly matched. Historically Estonia have only beaten Cyprus once in the last 6 meetings, but that should have little bearing on Saturday’s game given the turnover of players in both squads.

Estonia’s FIFA World Cup Qualifying Group H Results so far:

Predictions

With Estonia’s confidence expected to be rock bottom, Cyprus have a great chance to record their second win in World Cup Qualifying Group H. If the Cypriots can get off to a fast start and pressurise a fragile Estonian defence, then they should be able to secure a narrow win.

NetBet have odds of 1/1 for Cyprus to beat Estonia outright and that looks a sensible bet. My betting advice for the goal markets would be to take William Hill’s odds of 23/20 for both teams to score. Bet365’s odds of 7/2 for a draw halftime/Cyprus full-time outcome also look generous.
