This is supposed to be an intriguing fixture between two teams fighting for Europa League qualification, and maybe even dreaming of the Champions League spot as well. Villarreal are fifth in Primera Division, a single point ahead of Athletic Bilbao in sixth place, and both teams approach the game in good mood. Athletic Bilbao won four games out of the last five, only marginally losing to Real Madrid. Villarreal won at Real Betis on Tuesday, and kept a clean sheet in three of their last games. It should be a tight affair.
With Athletic Bilbao in sparkling form, they even managed to overtake local rivals Real Sociedad in the table, and their self confidence is sky high. Athletic Bilbao haven't won at Villarreal in Primera Division since 2004, but they did prevail at Villarreal's stadium in the cup fixture last year, and overall kept a clean sheet against Villarreal in the last three matches. Villarreal are much less stable than Athletic Bilbao lately, and it could be a nice idea to use the generous odds on the visitors (3.20).
Another interesting option is putting money on Aritz Aduriz finding the net – the veteran striker scored in the last three matches, and the odds are good at 2.25
