Borussia Dortmund vs Hamburg Preview, Prediction and Betting Tips: Dortmund to forget derby disappointment with win against Hamburg

EVENT ENDED!

Thomas Tuchel’s Borussia Dortmund will be keen to move on from their recent 1-1 derby draw with Schalke, with Hamburg the next team in Die Schwarzgelben’s crosshairs in the Bundesliga.

Match Preview

The visitors are struggling at the wrong end of the table and sit just one point off 16th-placed Augsburg, but recently things have picked up for them. Hamburg are unbeaten in their last four, and they have won three of them by one-goal margins.

    - Dortmund 6-2 Leverkusen
    - Hertha 2-1 Dortmund
    - Dortmund 1-0 Ingolstadt
    - Schalke 1-1 Dortmund

Dortmund dropped to fourth at the weekend, courtesy of Hoffenheim picking up a 3-1 win over Hertha Berlin, but the hosts haven’t lost at Signal Iduna Park in the Bundesliga since April 2015 against Bayern Munich.

Tuchel’s side have kept a clean sheet in three of their last four home league matches, while Hamburg have won just one of their last six on the road. It is hard to look beyond the form book for this one.

    - Hamburg 1-0 Hertha
    - Hamburg 2-1 Gladbach
    - Frankfurt 0-0 Hamburg
    - Hamburg 2-1 Koln

Dortmund vs Hamburg Prediction and Betting Advice

Marco Reus, Sebastian Rode and Mario Gotze are all still missing due to injury, but Dortmund should have enough quality to see off their opponents quite comfortably. Marc Bartra should start despite being one booking away from a suspension.

Dortmund have been strong at home lately and look capable of scoring some goals in front of their own fans, while Hamburg’s resurgence could well come to an end.
