Friday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Turkish Süper Lig, and I like the look of the visitors maintaining their incredible form in front of goal.
Friday 10th March, 17:00
Two clubs in contrasting form in the Turkish Süper Lig meet at the Çotanak Sports Complex on Friday teatime as third-bottom Giresunspor host eighth-placed Fatih Karagümrük.
Giresunspor's tough start to the New Year continued last time out as they were held to a goalless draw away at Konyaspor. Hakan Keleş’s hosts are now winless in each of their previous eight Turkish Süper Lig fixtures, losing five in that run – including each of their last three at home – to leave them lying in 17th position, one point adrift of safety. The Giresun-based club has registered just three clean sheets across their opening 23 fixtures in the Süper Lig this season, conceding on 40 occasions.
Fatih Karagümrük showed why they are indeed the Süper Lig’s entertainers once more last time out, as they defeated Sivasspor 4-3. Andrea Pirlo’s visitors are unbeaten in each of their previous eight Turkish Süper Lig fixtures (W4-D4-L0) to leave sitting in eighth position, eight points better off than their opponents. Only the top two – Fenerbahçe (58) and Galatasaray (50) – have scored more goals in the Turkish top-flight than Fatih Karagümrük, with the Istanbul-based club scoring on 47 occasions.
Without doubt, Fatih Karagümrük are the most entertaining side in the Turkish top-flight this season, with their matches averaging a whopping 4.09 goals per match. Andrea Pirlo’s visitors may posses the division’s second worst defence, but boasts the third-best attack.
Fatih Karagümrük has found the back of the net in 19/22 of their league fixtures this season, remarkably scoring on multiple occasions in 12 of their previous 15. What’s more, the Kara Kırmızı have scored two or more goals in seven of their last eight away, and they look a good bet to bag another brace against a Giresunspor defence that has registered just three clean sheets all season, shipping multiple goals in five of their previous seven.
