Everton vs Chelsea Preview, Prediction and Betting Tips: Everton to Take Point and Blow Title Race Wide Open

Match Preview – 14.05 Kick-Off at Goodison Park, Liverpool

Sunday’s trip to Goodison Park represents Chelsea’s last real hurdle in pursuit of the Premier League title. Their remaining fixtures are all games you would expect Antonio Conte’s side to win comfortably, but if Chelsea slip up at Everton and Spurs beat Arsenal, the gap between 1st and 2nd will be reduced to just 1 point. The Blues have lost 2 of their last 5 league games and will be desperate to set straight their late wobble.

Everton will fancy their chances of throwing a spanner in the works – they have only lost once at home in the Premier League all season and they are on a 7 game winning streak at Goodison Park. Last weekend’s 0-0 draw at West Ham was the Toffees first clean sheet in 5 however.

When the sides last met back in early November, Chelsea thumped 5 past Everton at Stamford Bridge, though expecting a repeat of that scoreline on Sunday borders on lunacy. Read our match prediction and detailed Everton vs Chelsea betting tips below.

Everton vs Chelsea Predictions

Everton’s winning streak at Goodison Park cannot be ignored, nor can their record against the top 6 Premier League sides this season where they have won just twice in 8 games. Nerves are bound to play a part for Chelsea and in many ways, Everton have nothing to lose. Star striker Romelu Lukaku will have extra motivation against the club who made him surplus to requirements early in his career but who might also be potential suitors come the summer. I’m going to go for a score draw.

William Hill have odds of 13/5 for the draw outright on Sunday, you can enhance those odds to 11/1 if you select the draw/over 2.5 goals option. There have been over 2.5 goals in 6 of Everton’s and Chelsea’s last 8 fixtures respectively.
