Match Preview – 19:45 Kick-Off at Turf Moor, Burnley

It might surprise you to learn that Burnley have a better home record in the Premier League this season than both Manchester United and Manchester City. Their remarkable home form is in stark contrast to their away form, where they have the worst record of all 20 teams in the league. Unfortunately for Sean Dyche, after Burnley’s latest defeat, a 2-0 defeat to Tottenham, his side have now gone 8 games without a win in all competitions. They have only played 2 league games at home in the last 7 and with their inability to gain points away from Turf Moor, that poor sequence of results was entirely predictable.

Stoke City’s defeat at Leicester meant they had won just 2 games in 9 league fixtures. Mark Hughes troops sit in a comfortable 9th position and he will hope his players don’t start to think it’s “job done” and coast to the end of the season. Burnley v Stoke City Predictions

In 11 of the last 12 games between Burnley and Stoke, there have been under 2.5 goals scored so it’s safe to say that Tuesday’s game probably won’t be one for the ages. Stoke have won just 3 games away all season and with Burnley leaning heavily on their home form to keep them up, they go into this one as slight favourites. Burnley to record a narrow home win.

Bet365 give Burnley odds of 11/8 to win and that looks decent value for an outright bet. They give Stoke City odds of 19/10 to chalk up their 4th Premier League away win of the season, which is probably an offer to avoid given Burnley’s home record. Under 2.5 goals looks the safest bet you can make for this one, but odds of 8/13 with Bet365 aren’t exactly worth jumping on. Couple under 2.5 goals with a home win and you can get odds of 7/2 however. That’s definitely worth a go.

Our Tip
