Port Vale are running out of time to secure their League One survival, with an awful run of form seeing them sat dangerously in the relegation zone as they come up against Walsall.
Fortunately for the visitors, Walsall can’t aspire to much in their last two games of the season, which might mean that their players aren’t motivated or focused on snatching a good result.
Rock-bottom side Coventry took three points from the Saddlers last time out, boosting them off the foot of the table at last, with Port Vale sure to take some inspiration from that result.
The away side have lost their last five consecutive league games, scoring no goals at all across any of them, with safety four points away. Failure to win would leave things very tight indeed.
Goals have been hard to come by for both teams heading into this important clash, with Walsall similarly managing just three goals in their last five games.
Entertainment should be at a minimum, but Port Vale can’t be ruled out of taking an important result at the Banks's Stadium as they battle for their League One status.
