Another game, another comprehensive Pakistan win and a rather conclusive 4-0 lead in the five-match One-Day International Series. Pakistan have been so utterly dominant in this series, one can almost feel sorry for the touring Sri Lankans, who must have come into the series full of confidence after an historic Test series win in the UAE. Instead, Pakistan have bounced back with aplomb to win an eighth straight One-Day International match, while consigning their opponents to an 11th consecutive defeat in the 50-over format. Without a win since July, and off the back of a 5-0 defeat to India, the tourists will want to avoid a second-straight whitewash.

Pakistan vs Sri Lanka Predictions

As we look at the fifth match of the One-Day international series in more detail, our betting tips suggest Pakistan will end the series in the vein it started and complete an unsurprising 5-0 whitewash victory. Pakistan are on a run of eight straight wins in the 50-over game which included an unlikely Champions Trophy win against India in England. Sri Lanka have never won an ODI series in the UAE but are in serious danger of a first winless series against Pakistan for 11 years. It would also be just the fifth time in 19 One-Day International series against Pakistan that they have failed to register a single win.

Pakistan vs Sri Lanka Betting Tips

Pakistan entered the series with a point to prove after a surprising 2-0 defeat in the Test series. They have bounced back with vigor and showed just how good a side they are in coloured clothing, and represent brilliant value at 3/10 with Unibet to win the match. Despite a relatively poor ICC ranking, Pakistan have proved to be one of the teams to beat in 50-over cricket in the last 12 months and will be a dangerous threat when the World Cup comes around in 2019. Sri Lanka meanwhile were underwhelming at the Champion’s Trophy and have been even worse in the ODI series that have followed. They will look to end the series on a high with a victory and in the process avoiding a second dreaded 5-0 whitewash defeat.

The hosts have dominated with bat and ball throughout this series, but their ability to put a stranglehold on the Sri Lankan batsman with the ball has been their most impressive feat. Hasan Ali has been brilliant for the hosts but the support work from Shadab Khan in particular has been brilliant. Khan has eight wickets in the series and has gone from strength to strength as the series has gone on. The 19-year-old legspinner has been imperious since he broke onto the international stage, making his debut in all three forms of the game this year. Khan has played 11 ODI’s in his career and has never suffered defeat in that time. He has 17 wickets and averages a little over 27, which for a young spinner is brilliant. He is great value at 7/2 with Betway to end the series on a high and lead the way in the bowling department.
