The PGA Tour comprises the finest golf tournaments from across the world. These draw a number of high-profile golfers and spectators. One of the famous PGA tours in the United States has to be the Barclays tournament. Since banking giant Barclays came in as a sponsor in 2007, the tournament has been known as the Barclays tournament. It acts as the precursor to the FedEx cup, as it occurs towards late August – or a few weeks before the start of the FedEx cup. Access to the Barclays tournament is provided for 125 golfers based on their performance in the regular PGA Tour season.
Formerly known as the Westchester Classic, the tournament began in 1967 in New York. Even though the tournament used to be held in June as a precursor to the US Open, this tradition has changed in recent years. Several high-profile golfers like Tiger Woods have been part of the Barclays tournament. In a few years, the tournament will undergo a sponsorship change but until then and this will be searching for the Barclays 2016 odds.

It is possible to bet online on the Barclays 2016 tournament, but it is a good idea to go through several betting tips before managing to get hold of the best odds from a certain bookmaker. The tournament has been regularly contested by US nationals, who have turned out to be the most successful in recent years. During the initial years when it was not as popular as it is today, there are only two foreign nationals who won the title from 1967 to 1982. Since then, however, the tournament in joining the PGA Tour has led to a proliferation of winners from countries like South Africa, Fiji, and Spain.
However, Australia is by far the most successful country at the Barclays tournament when the United States are not taken into account. Jason Day and Adam Scott have cemented Australia’s grip over the tournament with two wins in the last three years. Fiji’s Vijay Singh, though, holds the record with four title victories with his most recent coming in 2008. Jack Nicklaus, Seve Ballesteros, Ernie Els, and Sergio García have all won the title twice.
Let's see the favourites.
Jason Day - He is the world number one and also defending champion at Barclays, and he's got outstanding claims this week. One could say that he is definitely the man to beat. He surprised everyone at USPGA Championship after the disappointing record of defending titles, yet his second one there at Baltusrol paid out well.
He's priced well at 8/1.
Rory Mcllory - He has had quite a miserable year in golf so far. He has missed cuts at two majors (the USPGA and the US Open), he couldn't win the Trump Doral in March and his win at the Irish Open is still his only success this year.
Henrik Stenson - He is hard to dismiss after the sparkling run of form quite lately. His silver medal at the Olympics as well as his Greens in Regulation figures are great. He has some fuel left in the tank and we like his chances. He does not look a good price in relation to Jason Day, however.
The 2016 edition of the Barclays tournament will be taking place at the Bethpage State Park’s Black Course. It is located in Farmingdale, New York. The tournament is scheduled to take place between August 25 and August 28.
