Tennys Sandgren vs Hyeon Chung Prediction and Betting Advice

Sandgren is the number 96 in the world right now, but that hasn’t stopped him from performing very well in this event so far. Stan Wawrinka was the first big name he dispatched of, that win came in straight sets too, to make it even more impressive. The second was in the last round where he won a five-set thriller against Dominic Thiem. From what we have seen so far, Sandgren is comfortable on the hard surface, and he looks up for the battle this week, he is going to be a formidable opposition. While it is tough to discount Sandgren so easily in our Australian predictions, Hyeon Chung has been in very good form and after seeing how he dispatched of better players than Sandgren in the earlier rounds, it is easy to see why he is a clear favourite. Chung has been in very good form, he won the recent head to head between these two and overall looks to be the much stronger man here. Plus, the tennis betting odds at Ladbrokes look like this is a value bet. We hope our Sandgren predictions will help you.

The 58th seed, Hyeon Chung shocked us all with his victory over Novak Djokovic in the last round, the game he is sure to never forget. The game was tight, but he beat Djokovic in straight sets to book his place here. Elsewhere, prior to the victory over Djokovic, Chung has been in very good form and won every game in straight sets apart from his last 32 battle with Alexander Zverev. He won on the Milan hard court towards the end of last season and reached the quarter-finals of the Auckland event earlier this season. He clearly likes the hard surface and looks a dangerous player when on form. Chung has dispatched of his opponents in very easy fashion, with the exception of Alexander Zverev. His victories have been impressive, and although Sandgren cannot be discounted easily in our Australian Open betting tips, if Chung plays as he has done so far, he can win this game comfortably. A three-set victory looks to be well within reach, and providing those three sets are not close tie breakers, this bet should also win.
