My main pick Golden Strike won at recommended odds of 9/2. He was heavily backed into 13/8 favorite throughout the day. Hopefully, some of you managed to snatch up the 9/2 that was available with most firms last night.
Unfortunately, my other two selections did not fare as well. Mother Nature was narrowly beaten at the finish line, while Baynoona performed poorly by fading significantly after being ridden aggressively from the front.
For tomorrow, I have only one selection from the Hamilton meeting:
Trainer Kevin Philippart De Foy has opted to send Bur Dubai to Hamilton, a journey of around 360 miles for the horse. This decision indicates confidence in the horse's abilities. With a mid-70s rating and strong showings in his two previous races this season, Bur Dubai appears to be a solid choice for this race.
In his first race of the season, Bur Dubai defied odds of 100/1 in the Listed Blue Riband Derby Trial at Epsom. Despite finishing sixth, he was not far behind some notable competitors, Epsom Derby seventh Bellum Justum and subsequent Group 3 Curragh winner Chief Little Rock are the two main ones that come to mind.
I'm hoping that a return to turf and a drop in distance from 1m4 to 1m2 could work in his favor, as he remains relatively untested over this trip.
