Euro 2024 handicap betting tips: Germany hungry for more goals

James Harrington

Handicap markets are priced up by the majority of bookmakers and it's proving to be  particularly popular in football matches where one team is heavily favoured over the other.

Why the Euro 2024 Handicap market is worth exploring

Having this market to make use of can enable bettors to squeeze more value out of any given game in comparison to the traditional win/draw/lose odds on offer. Given that, Euro 2024 will throw up its share of fixtures that seem like mismatches on paper, attacking the handicap market could prove a successful path to profit.

Which Euro 2024 games could be of interest here?

Germany vs Hungary

Germany made a dream start to their Euro 2024 campaign and they should be too hot to handle for Hungary on matchday two.

Julian Nagelsmann’s men made an early statement of intent by shredding Scotland 5-1 on the opening night of the tournament.

That doesn’t bode well for a Hungary side that put in a disappointing performance when losing 3-1 to Switzerland in their Group A opener.

As such, it’s no real surprise to see Germany as heavy 1/4 favourites on Betfred to claim back-to-back victories this midweek.

With German expectations already beginning to soar following their five-star display against Scotland, another comprehensive victory for the host nation could be on the cards

While Hungary will almost certainly put up more of a fight than Scotland, the Germans are a considerable class above their opponents and therefore look worth backing with a -1 handicap at 4/5 on Betfred.

Slovenia vs Serbia

Slovenia and Serbia square off at the Allianz Arena on matchday two in what looks set to be a pivotal clash in Euro 2024 Group C.

The two sides suffered contrasting fortunes on matchday one, with Slovenia securing a hard-fought point against Denmark, while Serbia lost 1-0 to England.

Despite impressing against the Danes, Slovenia appear to have been underrated and undervalued ahead of matchday two, with Matjaz Kek’s men 7/2 outsiders on Betfred.

Plenty may argue that Denmark are a better side than Serbia and that makes the opportunity to support Slovenia with a +1 start at 19/20 on Betfred an attractive betting proposition.

Slovenia have lost just one of their last 13 matches, scoring in each and every single of those assignments.

That highlights just how tough a nut they are to crack, and it only adds to the appeal of siding with them on the handicap against the Serbians.

Belgium vs Romania

Belgium will look to breathe some much-needed life into their Euro 2024 campaign when they take on Romania on Saturday night.

Domenico Tedesco’s team were on the receiving end of the first major shock of the tournament, slumping to a 1-0 loss against Slovakia on Monday.

That means the Red Devils are running the risk of being eliminated early – a fate they suffered at the 2022 World Cup.

Romania proved they are no pushovers when putting Ukraine to the sword on matchday one so they should be awkward opponents for Belgium.

The Belgians feel far too short as 4/9 favourites here, whereas Romania represent excellent value with a +1 start on the handicap at 7/4 with Betfred.
