Horse Racing Betting Tips for Mar 19 Races at Carlisle and Ffos Las

Jonathan Nixon

Carlisle and Ffos Las will play host to horse races and horse racing betting tips on March 19.

After spell bounding action at the Cheltenham Festival, horse racing action continues towards the next venues. Carlisle and Ffos Las are the locations hosting the horse races on March 19. While the races will not be a match for the Cheltenham Festival races, there is plenty of bet online interest for these races.

Carlisle Betting Tips

Carlisle is a historic racing location when it comes to horse races, as it has been involved since 1904. It has grown in popularity ever since becoming the first location for pool betting in 1929. Carlisle is involved in horse racing betting through both flat and jump races. The Carlisle Bell and Cumberland Plate are seen as two popular flat events at Carlisle. In terms of jump events, the most popular event would be the Colin Parker Memorial Chase.

On March 19, the horse betting focus falls primarily on the Thornby Veterans' Handicap Chase – a Class 2 race. It kicks off at 15:55 and it features a prize money of £18,768. A total of 16 runners will be competing for this event over a distance of 3 miles. Shutthefrontdoor has the experience and speed necessary to win this event, according to horse racing betting tips.

Going is soft-heavy in places.

14:15 - REIVERS LAD won on March 4 and February 16 at Kelso. The 6-year-old was fourth at Ayr on January 30. Johanos is probably his main rival here.

14:45 - CHIDSWELL won at Ayr on February 27 and at Sedgefield on February 12. The 8-year-old bay gelding was second at Newcastle on January 7. The Dutchman seems to be in great form as well.

15:55 - FIRTH OF THE CLYDE was second at February 16 and hasn't raced in almost a year. The 12-year-old bay gelding had a great start of the year in 2016 and has much potential.

17:00 - CARLTON RYAN's victory at Fakenham on February 17 puts him on a pedestal this time. He was also second at Musselburgh on February 4. The 9-year-old bay gelding is definitely the one to choose in this Class 5 race.

Ffos Las Betting Tips

Ffos Las is one of the latest National Hunt tracks to be built in the UK. The modern nature of the Ffos Las seems to hold a lot of appeal among the horse racing odds, which are found in huge numbers with regard to races like the West Wales National and Welsh Champion Hurdle. Another reason for the appeal is the track being fair, flat, and possessing a galloping nature.

On March 19, racing action and horse racing tips will predominantly focus on the two Class 3 races. The Heineken Handicap Chase features 20 runners and a prize money of £7,798. These runners will be competing on a track which is rated as soft, and it will be over a distance of 2 miles and 7 furlongs. The best odds of success will go towards Alfie Spinner, who has taken one win in three appearances at a Class 3 race.

Going is soft.

15:35 - VERYGOODVERYGOOD was third at Leicester on February 1. Had mixed results in the first part of 2017 and in late 2016, but seems to be improving in form as of late. The two victories from November 2016 prove that he's got potential.

16:45 - ALFIE SPINNER was 4th at Carlisle on February 8 and won at Wincanton on January 19. He took a 294-day break in 2016 and returned to running this January. Quite risky.

17:35 - THE WELSH PADDIES is quite a risky bet. The 5-year-old bay gelding was 7th at Newbury on February 11. He won at Ffos Las in late November 2016, but seems to be in a very weird state now.
