New Zealand vs Scotland Predictions and Betting Tips, World Cup Match Preview

EVENT ENDED!

This weekend we see the second round of games in the Rugby League World Cup, including a game between co-hosts New Zealand and Scotland. The Kiwis eased their way into the tournament with a 38-8 victory over Samoa and will be looking to build on that against the Scots this weekend. It was a disappointing start for Scotland, who were thrashed 50-4 by Tonga and this is another very tough task for them. Make sure you get more free rugby predictions on the dedicated page.

New Zealand vs Scotland Preview

New Zealand should qualify from this group with ease and will be looking to get better as each game comes along, and I expect to see them play better against Scotland than they did against Samoa. That means trouble for the Scots, and anything other than a very comfortable victory for the home team will be seen as a shock.

Scotland will have to defend much better against New Zealand, conceding 50 points to Tonga was not a good start for them. I don’t think they will feel the full force of the Kiwis this weekend, but they will still be in for a very tough game and one where they will need to defend exceptionally well. It would be unrealistic to think the Scots had a chance, and they will head into the game looking to keep the score respectable.

New Zealand vs Scotland Prediction

It is no surprise to see New Zealand priced up as huge favourites for the game and they look sure to post a comfortable victory in this one. I expect them to progress throughout the tournament, so I don’t think we will see them at 100% straight away, but we will see them perform better than they did in their first game.

Scotland will of course head into this game with absolutely nothing to lose and will be looking to keep the score line as close as possible to give them a respectable showing. They are better than what we saw last week and will come out determined to show everyone that.

New Zealand vs Scotland Betting Tips

New Zealand should run out comfortable winners of this game and after seeing Scotland concede 50 points last weekend, we are happy to see the handicap line for this game at less than 50. New Zealand are better than Tonga and should be able to put more than 50 points past Scotland, making the -46 handicap line with Coral very interesting. You can back New Zealand -46 with Coral at evens, it is the best price available on this game.

Betfair have priced up many different total points markets and the line of 66.5 is the one that interests us. Over 66.5 points in the game with Betfair is priced up at a nice figure and for a value bet this looks the one to be on, we are expecting New Zealand to score around 60 points, with Scotland hopefully making up the rest. New Zealand is a point scoring machine, and this can be seen in their stats, winning in over 76.5% of their matches until 2016. Get more rugby league odds if these markets are not fit for you!
