2017 BMW PGA Championship

 

The 2017 BMW PGA championship sees Chris Wood coming into the event as the defending champion. He managed a 279 score and a 1 stroke win over Rikard Karlberg. This professional golf tournament is regarded as one of the most prestigious golf events across the world. It is also commonly known as the British PGA Championship. The Wentworth club located in Surrey plays host to the event. Some of the past champions expected to take the field are Rory McIlroy, Chris Wood, and Luke Donald.

The likes of Royal St George's Golf Club have hosted the event in the past, but Wentworth club has become the default choice since 1984. English players have dominated the event in recent years after managing five victories since 2009.

 

2017 BMW PGA Championship Prize Money

 

The BMW PGA Championship purse is a whopping $7 million for the 2017 event taking place at Wentworth Club, Virginia Water in Surrey, England. The winner will take home €833,330 and the same number of Race to Dubai points.

 

The BMW PGA Championship prize money distribution, including all player payouts for each prize winning leaderboard position, will be made public on Sunday, May 28th.
